Job summary

Wachter is hiring a Fire Alarm/Intrusion/Access Control Service Technician to service and install at various retail locations across the United States. Expect day shifts with some night work, and travel up to 20-30% with a mandatory one-week orientation in Lowell, Arkansas. A company vehicle is provided after orientation.

Qualifications

• Field installation experience in security environments: Fire Alarm /Intrusion / Access Control
• Current/valid Michigan Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license
• Knowledgeable about NFPA standards including NFPA 70 and 72
• Experience reading blueprints and site maps

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment in IP Video, Access Control / Intrusion Alarm / LAN/WAN infrastructure, and wireless LAN
• Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings with drilling concrete walls and limited conduit bending
• Complete wiring, connections, terminations, and equipment installations for Access Control and Intrusion systems
• Install, repair, or upgrade fire alarm systems and program control panels per plans and layouts
• Mount sensors, drill holes, and access crawlspaces or attics as needed
• Ensure systems comply with electrical and fire codes; perform tests and validation
• Adhere to site safety requirements and coordinate with Installation Team Lead or Project Manager
• Troubleshoot new system installations to meet codes and insurance requirements

Education

Fire Alarm Specialty Technician License - Michigan

Life Safety license or Physical Security license

NICET certification (preferred)

Field installation experience in Fire Alarm / Intrusion / Access Control

Blueprints/site maps reading

Customer relationship & communication

Valid driver's license with clean record

Microsoft Office proficiency (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
