Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is hiring a Fire Alarm, Intrusion, and Access Control Service Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot security systems at retail sites nationwide. The role emphasizes independent problem-solving, safety, and delivering high customer satisfaction through reliable system operation.

The position offers a day schedule with some nights, travel up to 20–30%, and a one-week orientation in Lowell, AR. Wachter is a family-owned firm with 90+ years in the field.

Qualifications

• Field installation experience in Fire Alarm, Intrusion, and Access Control.
• NICET certification preferred.
• Valid state required Physical Security/Life Safety license in applicable tech.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 and 72 standards.
• Ability to read blueprints and site maps.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment for IP Video, Access Control, Intrusion, and LAN/WAN.
• Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings; drill concrete walls and bend conduit as needed.
• Complete wiring, terminations, and equipment installations ensuring system compliance.
• Install, repair, or upgrade fire alarm systems with reference to plans and layouts.
• Mount sensors; access crawl spaces or attics as required.
• Test systems to verify operation and code compliance.
• Follow safety requirements and cooperate with team leads and project managers.
• Troubleshoot new installations to ensure proper functioning and compliance.
