Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced technician to perform service and new installation commissioning on fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion and intercom systems across various sites. The role requires field coordination, system programming, AHJ testing, and training on new installations.

You will diagnose equipment issues, propose cost-effective solutions, manage service calls, and ensure customer satisfaction while complying with OSHA and Johnson Controls safety policies.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience with installation and service of fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion and intercom systems.
• Strong electrical/electronics knowledge and troubleshooting ability.
• Security experience with P2000 or C-Cure 9000.
• Ability to work independently and provide excellent customer service.
• Must lift up to 40 pounds; able to climb and work in confined spaces.
• High school diploma or technical associate degree; IT familiarity.
• Windows OS and MS Office knowledge; IT networks understanding.
• Read and interpret complex building drawings and manuals.
• CCURE 9000, NICET, and DCJS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and new installation commissioning on fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion, and intercom systems.
• Supervise and inspect installation to meet customer expectations and manufacturer specs; coordinate field activities.
• Troubleshoot equipment and field wiring issues; propose efficient solutions.
• Manage service calls and track field labor hours.
• Maintain clear communication with customers and prepare daily reports.
• Overtime may be required; read blueprints and manuals for proper installation.
• Adhere to OSHA and Johnson Controls safety policies.
