Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Security Service Technician to independently service and maintain security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, and CCTV in the Dayton, OH area. You will read schematics and tests to ensure compliance with codes and customer expectations.

The role requires 3+ years in the field, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel to job sites. Ohio Fire Alarm license is preferred; license acquisition if needed is supported by the company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in fire and life safety as an apprentice or technician.
• Ohio Fire Alarm License preferred; willing to obtain license if not held.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record if driving role.

Responsibilities

• Independently service, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain security systems.
• Diagnose issues and perform corrective actions promptly and professionally.
• Test and verify system functionality and compliance with codes and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
