Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Specialist to oversee fire safety inspections and maintain all fire equipment across facilities.

The role focuses on implementing fire safety plans, educating staff and visitors, and coordinating with engineers to ensure compliant, safe buildings. The candidate will inspect extinguishers, sprinkler systems, alarms, and new building installations, while staying current with NFPA standards and code changes that affect fire protection

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s or associate degree or NFPA certs preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of fire prevention/protection experience.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards; ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, and protection equipment for operability.
• Test fire alarm systems to ensure proper functioning.
• Investigate fires and recommend preventive measures.
• Prepare and present reports to management.
• Train employees on proper fire safety procedures.
• Develop and implement evacuation plans.
• Coordinate with local fire departments for code compliance.
• Inspect buildings for potential fire hazards.
• Collaborate with architects/engineers on fire-safe design.
• Install fire suppression systems in new buildings.
• Monitor building code changes and revise plans accordingly.
• Stay updated on new fire safety technologies.
