Qualifications

• 3+ years of building fire code enforcement experience.
• Working knowledge of NFPA codes, OSHA regulations, and local fire codes.
• Strong analytical and observational abilities to identify hazards and enforce compliance.
• Excellent communication skills for delivering fire-safety education and coordinating with internal teams and external agencies.
• Ability to maintain detailed records and manage training programs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and enforce fire, life-safety, OSHA, and NFPA codes.
• Audit support for local authorities, insurance underwriters, and DCMA representatives as needed.
• Verify proper maintenance and operation of exits and egress routes.
• Inspect flammable-liquid storage and ensure safety standards are met.
• Maintain logs of inspections and equipment.
• Supervise contracted fire-prevention services to ensure standards.
• Accompany external inspectors during site visits.
• Administer the NFPA10-based fire-extinguisher program including training and placement.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute evacuation drills and update evacuation maps.
• Provide safety advisement on building-inspection codes and NFPA standards.
