Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Specialist to conduct inspections of extinguishers, sprinklers, alarms, and related equipment. You will develop and implement fire safety plans and educate employees and visitors on procedures.

You will also train staff, coordinate with local fire departments, review building codes, and stay current with NFPA standards to ensure safe facilities and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in fire science, engineering, or related field; OR Associates degree in fire science; NFPA certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of specific fire prevention/protection experience.
• Strong working knowledge of NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, and other fire protection equipment to ensure they are in working order.
• Test fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Investigate fires to determine the cause and make recommendations to prevent future fires.
• Prepare reports on findings and present them to management.
• Train employees on proper fire safety procedures.
• Develop and implement evacuation plans.
• Coordinate with local fire departments to ensure compliance with fire codes.
• Inspect buildings to identify potential fire hazards.
• Work with architects and engineers to design fire-safe buildings.
• Install fire suppression systems in new buildings.
• Monitor changes in building code requirements and revise plans accordingly.
• Keep abreast of new technology and products related to fire safety.
