Job summary

ServiceMaster CDR in Akron, OH is seeking an experienced Fire & Contents Restoration Technician to join our elite team. You will perform fire and smoke damage restoration, contents cleaning, and on-site tasks with a focus on safety and quality service.

Qualifications

• Some hands-on experience in fire or smoke damage restoration (residential or commercial).
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Solid customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in confined or challenging spaces, and wear PPE (including respirators) when required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Tech-savvy and able to learn or use mobile devices and job-tracking software.
• IICRC FSRT & OCT certifications are a plus (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of fire and smoke damage restoration, including demolition, structural cleaning, contents cleaning, equipment setup, pack-outs, and debris removal.
• Safely pack, move, clean, and restore fire-damaged personal belongings and commercial contents.
• Operate a variety of restoration tools and equipment, ensuring proper use and care.
• Accurately document job progress, inventory, and customer interactions using restoration software (e.g., Contents Track, iCAT, Restore 365).
• Work directly with homeowners, property managers, insurance adjusters, and project leads to ensure smooth, high-quality service delivery.
• Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean and professional worksite, and keep company vehicles and equipment ready and organized.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency situations as needed.
