Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC is seeking a Fire Suppression Service Technician to inspect, test, maintain, and repair kitchen hood fire suppression systems across facilities. Ensure reliability, safety, and code compliance per NFPA standards and manufacturer specs while coordinating with clients and teams.

Responsibilities include extensive inspections, maintenance, and timely reporting. Travel to client sites may be required; strong customer service and adherence to safety protocols are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years directly related experience.
• Valid state-specific license, required.
• Knowledge of NFPA 17 and related standards for inspection and maintenance.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and pipe threading machines.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record and ability to travel.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test fire suppression systems including kitchen hood units per NFPA standards.
• Perform routine maintenance on system components per NFPA and manufacturer specs.
• Test and recharge agent cylinders ensuring proper pressure and fill.
• Identify and troubleshoot leaks or faults and take corrective actions.
• Repair/replace components to maintain NFPA compliance.
• Coordinate with clients to schedule visits and advise on upgrades per NFPA.
• Inspect gas cylinders and perform hydrostatic testing and re-fill.
• Respond to service calls and emergencies to restore function.
• Document all service activities and notes in the service platform.
• Prepare repair estimates with Deficiency Sellers.
• Interact with clients to discuss findings and recommendations.
• Coordinate with Service Coordinators to optimize orders and scheduling.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment per guidelines.
