Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Fire Protection Project Designer to lead design efforts for fire alarm, suppression, and smoke control systems on buildings. You will prepare detailed designs, calculations, and specifications while coordinating with engineers and clients to meet project goals within budget and schedule.

Requires a BS in Fire Protection Engineering or related field; NICET II/III preferred; EIT preferred. The role offers significant mentorship, traveling up to 10%, and participation in a 100%

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• NICET Level II/III certification preferred for Fire Alarm or Water-Based Systems.
• EIT certification preferred.
• BIM/engineering certificates considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for fire alarm, suppression, and smoke control systems.
• Create detailed designs, calculations, and specifications per code and IMEG standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and consultants to provide practical solutions.
• Interact with clients to gather requirements and build relationships.
• Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines.
• Provide in-process design reviews and ensure QA against standards.
• Mentor junior staff and integrate cross-functional teams.
• Prioritize safety and stay current with industry trends.
