Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking an Apprentice/Trainee in Pasadena, TX to support inspectors in testing, inspecting, and maintaining fire protection systems under supervision. You will gain knowledge of NFPA codes, life safety, and equipment while completing weekly training documentation.

The role involves learning fire sprinkler, alarm, and suppression systems, with NICET certification efforts beginning within the training cycle and opportunities for growth in a national fire protection leader.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years’ experience inspecting fire protection systems preferred.
• Must be able to work alone and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist Inspectors while they inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes.
• Developing knowledge of life safety and NFPA codes and standards.
• Developing knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and related components.
• Perform testing and maintenance under direct supervision of an Inspection/Service Technician.
• Complete on the job training documentation each week.
