Job summary

A leading fire protection service provider in New Mexico is seeking a Fire Protection Inspector. This role requires a flexible schedule including travel and inspections of fire safety equipment. Fire Protection Inspector Position

The expectation is to be available for a flexible schedule involving travel and overnight stay. Further details will be explained during in-person interview. The expectation for inspectors is to be well rounded in fire extinguishers, fire alarms, fire sprinklers, backflows and kitchen hoods in commercial spaces. Training and certification will be provided in areas most needed, but experience and certification will be required in one of either of the categories prior to hire.

This position has a salary range of $19 to $30 per hour depending on experience and current license

Job Responsibilities
  • Performance of daily, weekly, monthly, and/or annual inspections and preventative maintenance services on various sized fire extinguishers, fire alarms, and fire sprinkler systems.
  • Repair, replace, fill, and tag all fire extinguishers.
  • Service and test all systems.
  • Complete electronic and/or handwritten inspection reports.
  • Document time worked as well as all paperwork relating to assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the scheduling and completion of assigned duties.
  • Ability to work independently and use provided personal protective equipment.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated competency in the fire protection industry required.
  • Licenses in Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler & Fire Extinguisher and/or Nicet Certification.
  • Understand NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) and building and fire codes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and written.
  • Valid driver’s license; in accordance with company policy required.
  • Able to pass a post-offer drug test and background check.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Regular bending, reaching, climbing, and walking
