Job summary

American Fire Protection Group, powered by APi Group, is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Fitter in Albuquerque. You will install, repair, and maintain fire sprinkler systems across diverse buildings, following safety codes and union standards.

Work with a skilled team, read blueprints, select materials, and deliver high-quality workmanship. Travel within NM as needed; union membership and proper licensing are required.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to join UA Local 669 Union.
• MS-J12 license or 4+ years in Local 669 with ability to obtain MS-J12 within 1 year.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
• Strong mechanical background preferred.
• Professional customer service skills.
• Basic ability to operate company software for work orders.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain fixed extinguishing systems and piping.
• Service standpipes, CO2 systems, foam systems, fire pumps, backflow preventers, and dry systems.
• Travel to various NM locations as needed.
• Comply with Sprinkler Fitters Local 669 union agreement.

Fire Sprinkler Fitter Position

As a Fire Sprinkler Fitter for AFPG, and a valued member of the UA Local Union, you will play a critical role in installing, repairing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems in diverse types of buildings, ensuring they meet all safety codes and standards. You will work alongside a skilled team, utilizing your expertise to assess blueprints, select appropriate materials, and provide high-quality craftsmanship to protect lives and property from fire damage. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of workmanship and safety as outlined by the union and our company.

Job Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain all types of fixed extinguishing systems, including components and piping.
• Responsible for installing and servicing other fire protection equipment such as standpipes, carbon dioxide systems, foam systems, fire pumps, backflow preventers, and dry systems.
• Travel to work on various locations/job sites as necessary within the state of NM.
• Comply with Sprinkler Fitters Local 669 union collective bargaining agreement.

Job Qualifications

• Willing tobecome a member of the UA Sprinkler Fitters Local 669 Union.
• MS-J12 License OR 4+ years of experience in the Local 669 Union with ability to obtain MS-J12 within 1 year, is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; in accordance with Company policy.
• Willing and able to lift up to at least 50 pounds.
• Willing to climb ladders and Strong mechanical background is preferred.
• Professional Customer service skills
• Basic knowledge to operate company software to complete workorders using Tablets, email, and paper documentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must pass a post-offer drug test and background check, if applicable.
