The Macomb Group in Akron, Ohio is seeking a full-time Fire Protection Fabrication Manager to lead daily fabrication operations at our Akron location. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and on-time delivery within a supportive team environment.

The ideal candidate will have related warehouse/fabrication experience, prefer a high school diploma, and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Fire protection knowledge is a plus; join a team committed to excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Some years of related warehouse/fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of Fire Protection/PVF is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily fabrication operations, ensuring workflow efficiency and adherence to production schedules.
• Supervise fabricators, welders, machinists; provide coaching, performance feedback, and training.
• Implement and enforce quality standards; conduct inspections; resolve defects or non-conformities.
• Ensure OSHA compliance, maintain safe work environments, and lead safety audits or corrective actions.
• Oversee maintenance schedules, coordinate repairs and ensure machinery is operating at peak performance.
• Lead fabrication projects from planning through completion, ensuring timelines and specifications are met.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily fabrication operations, ensuring workflow efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to production schedules
• Supervise fabricators, welders, machinists; provide coaching, performance feedback, and training
• Implement and enforce quality standards; conduct inspections; resolve defects or non-conformities
• Ensure OSHA compliance, maintain safe work environments, and lead safety audits or corrective actions
• Oversee maintenance schedules, coordinate repairs and ensure machinery is operating at peak performance
• Lead fabrication projects from planning through completion, ensuring timelines and specifications are met.
• Motivate, organize, and discipline staff
• Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment
• Use of Lift Truck and Crane to move materials
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Regularly lift up to 50lbs
• Be able to walk, stand, or lift the entire shift
• Knowledge of Fire Protection/PVF is a plus
• Some years of related warehouse/fabrication experience
