Job summary

The Macomb Group in Akron, Ohio is seeking a Fire Fabrication Manager to lead daily fabrication operations and supervise fabricators, welders, and machinists. You will implement quality standards, ensure OSHA compliance, and maintain a safe, efficient environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Be able to walk, stand, or lift the entire shift.
• Knowledge of Fire Protection/PVF is a plus.
• Some years of related warehouse/fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily fabrication operations, ensuring workflow efficiency and schedules.
• Supervise fabricators, welders, machinists; coach and train staff.
• Enforce quality standards; conduct inspections; resolve defects.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and maintain safe work environments.
• Oversee maintenance; coordinate repairs; keep machinery peak-ready.
• Lead projects from planning through completion with timelines and specs.
• Motivate and discipline staff; manage warehouse equipment use.
• Utilize lift truck and crane to move materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a full-time fire protection fabrication manager to work at our Akron, Ohio location. Responsibilities

• Direct daily fabrication operations, ensuring workflow efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to production schedules
• Supervise fabricators, welders, machinists; provide coaching, performance feedback, and training
• Implement and enforce quality standards; conduct inspections; resolve defects or non-conformities
• Ensure OSHA compliance, maintain safe work environments, and lead safety audits or corrective actions
• Oversee maintenance schedules, coordinate repairs and ensure machinery is operating at peak performance
• Lead fabrication projects from planning through completion, ensuring timelines and specifications are met.
• Motivate, organize, and discipline staff
• Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment
• Use of Lift Truck and Crane to move materials
• Other duties as assigned
