Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to join our Scranton team.

You will design fire protection and life safety systems across commercial, institutional, and industrial projects, from concept through construction. As part of a multidisciplinary group, you will develop calculations, reports, and construction documents, review NFPA and code compliance, and coordinate with architects and clients to deliver safe, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in fire protection engineering or life safety design.
• Working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design fire protection and life safety systems for diverse projects.
• Develop calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
• Perform fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression, and life safety analyses.
• Review projects for NFPA, IBC, IFC compliance and local codes.
• Coordinate with architects, owners and contractors through all project phases.
• Conduct site visits, field investigations, and system assessments.
• Support construction administration and respond to contractor questions.
• Assist with project management, scope, scheduling and client communication.
