Job summary

Engineering Resource Group, Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to perform code analysis and design life safety and fire protection systems for complex projects in the United States.

The role requires a PE license, a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, fire protection or architectural engineering, and at least five years of experience with NFPA codes, IBC/IFC, CFD and egress modeling. You will collaborate with architects and review shop drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, fire protection or architectural engineering.
• PE license is required.
• At least 5 years of industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of IBC/IFC, NFPA 101, NFPA 13/72.
• Experience with CFD and egress modeling.

Responsibilities

• Provide code analysis and life safety/fire protection system design.
• Prepare code studies, life safety plans, and contract documents.
• Provide site water supply analysis for fire suppression systems design.
• Assist project architect with egress, construction types, and barrier selection for building construction projects.
• Integrate fire protection systems with architectural and engineering disciplines.
• Review Sprinkler and Fire Alarm system shop drawings.
• Assist with performance and report on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and egress modeling.
• Serve as point of contact with clients and code officials to resolve fire protection and life safety code issues.
