Job summary

Summit Fire Consulting is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to design and evaluate life-safety systems for buildings. The role involves code consulting, performance-based design, and collaboration on larger projects at a national level.

You will work on hydraulic calculations, fire and smoke modeling, and egress analyses, with on-site inspections and documentation responsibilities. A PE or EIT with PE plans is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; preferably Fire Protection.
• PE or EIT with plans to obtain PE.
• 2+ years in code consulting, design, and fire protection engineering.
• NFPA codes, standards, and IBC knowledge.
• Hydraulic calculations, fire and smoke simulations, egress models a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate fire suppression, fire alarm and smoke control systems.
• Build code consulting for construction projects.
• Model fire and egress scenarios and perform performance-based design.
• Prepare reports and documentation.
• Conduct on-site inspections and observations.
• Collaborate with Summit Fire National Consulting on large projects.
