Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join the Cities & Places team. You will lead design activities for fire sprinkler, suppression, pumps, alarms, and life-safety analyses across regional and global projects.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in fire protection engineering and 5+ years of experience, PE license or eligible to obtain within 12 months. Travel ~10–15% is expected; hybrid work policy available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Safety Technology or related discipline.
• At least 5 years of related professional experience.
• PE in any U.S. State, having passed the fire protection engineering examination or able to obtain license within 12 months.
• No sponsorship required for employment visa to work for Jacobs in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of design staff to produce drawings and calculations for fire sprinkler systems, special hazards suppression systems, fire pumps, and life safety codes analysis.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver buildings projects across markets and regions.
• Develop and deliver challenging projects with attention to code compliance and client needs.
• Utilize hydraulic calculation programs and NFPA/ICC codes knowledge; experience with fire sprinkler or fire alarm contractors is a plus.
