Atlantic Constructors is seeking a Fire Protection Design Manager to oversee design/BIM for new construction sprinkler projects at our Richmond, VA headquarters. The role requires supervising design teams, ensuring compliance with NFPA codes, and coordinating with field teams and vendors.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in fire protection design, supervisory experience, NICET II preferred, and strong skills in AutoCAD and design software. Relocation to Richmond and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in fire protection design or related field.
• Supervisory/management experience.
• Understanding NFPA codes and local jurisdiction requirements.
• Ability to interpret architect drawings and specs.
• Proficient CAD software (AutoCAD) and fire design tools.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design/BIM aspects of sprinkler projects.
• Review NFPA codes, project specs, and submittals.
• Coordinate material orders and vendor invoices.
• Lead design team and ensure schedule adherence.
• Kick-off meetings with field crews and stakeholders.
• Support sales with bid takeoffs as needed.
