Job summary

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a Fire Protection Design Manager to oversee design/BIM aspects for new construction sprinkler projects. You will supervise designers, review drawings for NFPA compliance, and coordinate with field teams to ensure on-time delivery and profitability.

Ideal candidates have 5-7 years in fire protection design, supervisory experience, and NFPA knowledge. Relocation to our Richmond, VA HQ is required with relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in fire protection design
• Prior supervisor/management experience
• Understanding of NFPA and local authorities' jurisdiction requirements
• Ability to interpret architect drawings/specifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Must be available to work assigned schedule
• Relocation to Richmond, VA required (relocation assistance)

Responsibilities

• Project management duties for each project or delegation to team members
• Review design drawings for NFPA compliance
• Review material submittals for NFPA compliance
• Review hydraulic calculations for NFPA compliance
• Coordinate material delivery with field
• Supervise designers and monitor schedules
• Coordinate shop drawings with A/E
• Lead FP department meetings and bid take-off support
• Ensure safety procedures are followed
