Job summary

San Bernardino County Fire Protection District, Office of the Fire Marshal, seeks a Front Counter Technician to issue permits and enforce fire code compliance related to abatement. You will assist customers with applications, schedule inspections, and calculate related fees.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time customer service experience.
• Experience reviewing forms, scheduling inspections, and processing requests.
• Ability to enter and maintain information in systems.
• Researching parcel numbers, ownership, and addresses.
• Prepare correspondence and reports.

Responsibilities

• Issue Fire Prevention, CUPA/PA permits or enforce code compliance related to abatement.
• Receive and schedule requests for inspections and assist customers with applications.
• Calculate plan check fees and regulatory violation fees; verify submittals.
• Maintain accurate computer records on permits and enforcement actions.
• Research data and compile information for reports.
