Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an experienced inspector in Maumee, Ohio, to conduct routine inspections and maintenance on electrical, sprinkler or suppression life-safety lines.

You will work with low voltage wiring, document actions, and keep a strict inspection schedule. Ideal candidates have 3–4 years of low-voltage life-safety experience, strong troubleshooting ability, and the required licenses and NICET certification.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems and Fire and/or Life Safety Systems required.
• Aptitude for troubleshooting systems.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of performing physical labor up to 50-70 lbs.
• Climb ladders/scaffolding and work in ducts, crawl spaces, ceilings, etc.
• Work flexible hours including weekends.
• Self-starter that can work with supervision.
• Adhere to safety guidelines at all times.
• Strong organizational skills and quick learning.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting company requirements.
• NICET Certification is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test low voltage electrical systems and life-safety product lines.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Use laptops or paper to document service acknowledgements with proper codes.
• Maintain a structured inspection schedule and timely input/archive documents.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes to inspected systems.
• Provide technical training to junior inspectors and trainees.
• Complete inspections on schedule.
