Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, and suppression life-safety systems. This field-based role requires strong low-voltage knowledge, precise documentation, and adherence to a structured inspection schedule.

Responsibilities include handling service acknowledgements, basic repairs, and programming changes, with opportunities to mentor less experienced inspectors.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of documented experience in low-voltage electrical and life-safety systems.
• Proficient in inspecting, testing and servicing life-safety systems with accuracy.
• Able to read and follow detailed instructions and blueprints.
• Willing to perform physical work and lift up to 50–70 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain required licenses.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on life-safety product lines.
• Manage documentation and coding for service activities using laptops or paper.
• Follow a structured inspection schedule and complete tasks on time.
• Provide guidance to junior inspectors and trainees as needed.
• Perform minor repairs and programming adjustments to systems.
