Johnson Controls is seeking an Experienced Fire Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on life-safety systems in the Louisville area. The position requires 3–4 years of low-voltage experience, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to read instructions.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of documented experience in low-voltage electrical systems and Fire and/or Life Safety Systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify issues and perform small repairs.
• Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50–70 lbs.
• Ability to work in unusual or difficult positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler, or Suppression life safety product lines.
• Work with low-voltage wiring and associated devices used to operate low-voltage equipment.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding using laptop computers and/or hard copy.
• Follow a highly structured inspection schedule and complete assigned inspections on time.
• Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents via laptop or mobile device.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected.
• Provide technical guidance to less senior inspectors and trainees when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of safe and reliable field operations.
