Job summary

WSP USA invites applications for a Summer 2027 Fire & Life Safety Engineering Intern in the Dallas, TX area, with additional locations considered. This 12-week opportunity begins May 17, 2027, with flexibility on start date.

You will work alongside senior staff on real projects within the Fire & Life Safety team and participate in mentorship through the Developing Professionals Network. Qualified candidates are currently enrolled in an accredited Fire Protection Engineering program and plan to

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Fire Protection Engineering or related undergraduate program with a graduation date Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in Fire Protection & Life Safety or related field; desire to grow with WSP's projects.
• Able to communicate effectively with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Research building, life safety, and fire code requirements (ICC, NFPA, IBC, NFPA 101).
• Assist with design of fire protection and life safety systems (sprinklers, detection, smoke management, egress).
• Assist in preparing fire engineering calculations, from basic to 3D modeling.
