Job summary

Summit Fire & Security seeks a Shop Technician to receive, store, pick, and move materials within the warehouse and shop areas. You will assist customers with extinguishers and occasionally deliver items to customers, ensuring accurate inventory handling and labeling.

The role requires forklift certification, basic computer skills, and the ability to work with various teams. Expect compliance with safety policies and potential travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year Fire Life Safety Industry experience in Shop area preferred.
• 1 year of professional computer skills preferred.
• Inventory control experience preferred.
• Forklift certification, license, or experience required.
• Must comply with Drug and Alcohol policy and background screening.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, pick, and move materials in warehouse.
• Assist walk-in customers with fire extinguishers.
• Occasionally deliver extinguishers and cabinets to customers.
• Maintain cleanliness of shop and holding areas.
• Move extinguishers, sprinkler pipes, and related equipment.
• Identify and inspect received inventory and verify labels.
• Drive company vehicles as assigned.
• Transport items in and out of trucks.
• Assist with inventory audits.
• All other duties as assigned.
