Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Shop Technician to receive, store, pick and move materials in our warehouse and shop. You will perform inspections on extinguishers and assist customers, with occasional deliveries to sites. The role requires inventory accuracy, forklift use, and adherence to safety policies.

The ideal candidate has HS diploma, 1 year of fire life safety experience, and comfort with business software; travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year Fire Life Safety industry experience preferred.
• 1 year of professional computer skills preferred.
• Inventory control experience preferred.
• Forklift certification, license, or experience required.
• Must comply with Drug and Alcohol policy and background screening.
• Efficient time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Occasional travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, pick, and move materials in warehouse.
• Perform hydrostatic tests or 6-year internal inspections on extinguishers.
• Assist walk-in customers with fire extinguishers.
• Occasionally deliver extinguishers and cabinets to customers.
• Maintain cleanliness of shop and holding areas.
• Move extinguishers, sprinkler pipes, and other items.
• Inspect and verify inventory labels.
• Drive company vehicles as assigned.
• Transport items via truck; travel as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
