Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Shop Technician in Bend, Oregon. The role involves receiving, storing, picking, and moving materials in the warehouse and shop environment, with occasional local deliveries. Fluency in English and strong teamwork are important.

The position requires a HS Diploma, forklift certification or experience, and up to 30% travel. You will perform inspections, assist customers, and help maintain inventory accuracy while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year Fire Life Safety industry experience specifically within the Shop area, preferred.
• 1 year of professional computer skills, preferred.
• Inventory control experience, preferred.
• Forklift certification, license, or experience, required.
• Must comply with Drug and Alcohol policy and background screening requirements, per contract.
• Efficient time management and strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and teamwork across levels.
• Diligence and accuracy in tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrostatic test or 6-year internal inspections on fire extinguishers.
• Assist with walk-in customers' fire extinguishers.
• Occasionally deliver fire extinguishers and cabinets to customers.
• Help keep shop and extinguisher holding areas clean.
• Frequently move fire extinguishers and pipes; inspect inventory.
• Identify and inspect received inventory and verify labels.
• Drive company vehicles as assigned; transport items in/out of trucks.
• Assist with inventory audits and take part in cycle counting.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in warehouse/shop.
