Job summary

Henderson Engineers in Plano, TX is seeking Fire Designer I/II to design basic to intermediate building systems, prepare drawings and calculations, and coordinate with project teams. The roles include mentoring less experienced designers and supporting design development.

You will engage with clients, visit sites to verify conditions, and stay current with Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office. A bachelor’s degree in engineering with relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering and 1 year of relevant experience or 4 years of experience with high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs calculations and designs basic to intermediate design systems with minimal supervision.
• Prepares system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics.
• Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Prepares or modifies reports, plans and designs for projects.
• Performs research and makes recommendations as to the feasibility of systems or equipment.
• Collaborates on business development or pursuit activities.
