Job summary

Henderson Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Designer I to design basic building systems and prepare technical documents in coordination with project teams. The role supports design, calculations, and mentoring of junior staff.

The position emphasizes proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu, collaboration with architects and engineers, and adherence to codes and standards. Opportunities exist for growth within a dynamic ESOP culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 1 year experience or 4 years with high school diploma.
• FE exam preferred.
• Certifications in relevant field preferred (e.g., BEMP, CPD, CDP, NICET, RCDD).
• Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Performs calculations and designs basic engineering systems in collaboration with senior staff.
• Prepares system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics.
• Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specs.
• Mentors less experienced designers and supports business development.
