Job summary

Henderson Engineers is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer I to design basic building systems, prepare technical documents, and perform engineering calculations in coordination with project teams. The role requires collaboration with experienced staff, preparation of layouts and drawings, and review of shop drawings to ensure conformance with plans and specs.

Candidates should have an engineering degree with experience or a strong HS diploma and related experience, FE exam preferred, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 1 year of relevant experience or 4 years with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• FE exam preferred for advancement.
• Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu preferred; strong communication and teamwork required.

Responsibilities

• Performs calculations and designs basic engineering systems in collaboration with experienced design staff.
• Prepares system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics.
• Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Prepares or modifies reports, plans and designs for projects.
• Acts as a mentor to less experienced designers.
• Supports business development or pursuit activities.
• Participates in client, company and/or industry events to build and maintain professional relationships.
