Job summary

Henderson Engineers is seeking a Fire Alarm Designer I to design basic building systems and prepare technical documents. You will collaborate with project teams, create layouts and drawings, and review shop drawings for accuracy.

The role emphasizes growth through mentoring junior designers and supporting client relations while using Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office tools to deliver compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural) and 1 year of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• FE exam completion preferred.
• Certifications aligned with the technical field (e.g., NICET, CPD) preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design basic building systems and prepare technical documents in coordination with project teams.
• Create system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics.
• Review shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Mentor less experienced designers and support business development.
