Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and service electronic fire alarm systems at customer sites in Indiana. You will work with multiple manufacturers, read blueprints, install and program panels, and maintain high safety standards.

This role requires physical work, a valid driver's license, and strong customer service. You will participate in on-call rotations and collaborate with dispatch and district staff to deliver reliable system performance.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in low voltage electrical systems including Fire/Life Safety.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and product manuals.
• Knowledge of test equipment such as multimeter and commissioning devices.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to lift 50–70 lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and diagnose equipment or system problems.
• Repair and service electronic fire alarm systems at customer sites.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and manuals to guide work.
• Program fire alarm and related system panels as required.
• Provide excellent customer service and document work clearly.
• Participate in on-call rotation and support team members.
• Maintain inventory and ensure safety guidelines are followed.
