Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a skilled technician to program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service Fire Alarm Systems at customer sites.

The role includes panel reprogramming, device replacement, fault resolution, and system testing, with emphasis on networked fire alarm systems. Responsibilities include coordinating with project management, reading blueprints, and inspecting installations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five+ years of documented Fire Alarm experience.
• Ability to read/interprete blueprints, submittals and manuals.
• Experience with test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer and commissioning devices.
• Physically capable of lifting 50-70 lbs and using ladders.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Willing to work weekends and after-hours as needed.
• Pass pre-employment background and drug test.
• Ability to obtain required licenses per National, State and Local codes.
• Basic understanding of network concepts and architectures.

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service Fire Alarm Systems at customer sites.
• Perform panel reprogramming and device replacement/repair; test systems.
• Organize and utilize technical resources to ensure efficient execution of tasks.
• Program fire alarm, security, and access control panels with focus on networked systems.
• Respond to service calls promptly; troubleshoot and repair as needed.
• Communicate status to project manager and update outstanding issues.
• Read blueprints, submittals, specs, and manuals; supervise equipment installations.
• Complete required certifications and all task-related documentation promptly.
