Job summary

FSS Technologies in Minnesota is seeking a technician to install, maintain, and repair surveillance, access, audio/video, intercom systems, fire alarms, intrusion, and residential security across commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. You will ensure systems function correctly and comply with fire codes and safety regulations.

The role requires knowledge of electrical systems, local codes, problem-solving skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair faulty components.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role supporting fire systems is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in service and installation of security and fire systems hardware.
• Collaborate with team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to all company policies and industry regulations.
• Assist in creating documentation and reports for security assessments and audits.

Job description

As a technician, you will support our team in safeguarding our clients' assets. A technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing surveillance, access, audio and video, intercom systems, fire alarms, intrusion, and residential security in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. They ensure systems function correctly and comply with fire codes and safety regulations. Technicians will inspect and test existing systems and make necessary repairs or adjustments. Technicians must thoroughly understand electrical systems, components, and local codes and regulations. They must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems and identify and repair faulty components. Technicians also provide technical support and instruction to customers on properly using and maintaining systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role supporting fire systems is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

WORK HOURS AND BENEFITS

• Core work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and travel to various customer sites is required.
