Job summary

Century Fire Protection in Knoxville, TN is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to inspect, service, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems on commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties.

This hands-on field role requires problem-solving, delivering quality work, and strong customer service. Candidates should have 1–3 years of experience and relevant training, with on-call rotation and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of fire alarm or life safety experience preferred.
• NICET Fire Alarm certification preferred or required based on state requirements.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes.
• Experience with fire alarm panels, devices, and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems
• Diagnose system issues and complete timely, accurate repairs
• Program and configure fire alarm control panels and devices
• Complete service reports, inspection documentation, and compliance forms
• Identify deficiencies and communicate repair needs with customers
• Coordinate with project managers, service coordinators, and inspectors
• Maintain company tools, testing equipment, and service vehicles
• Follow NFPA standards, local codes, and company safety procedures
• Participate in the on‑call rotation and emergency service response

What You’ll Do

The Job

• Work in varying weather, noise, and electrical environments
• Occasional overtime and on‑call work may be required
