Job summary

Century Fire Protection Knoxville - Powell, TN is seeking a technician to inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems. You will diagnose issues, configure panels, complete reports, and communicate repairs to customers.

Travel up to 25% and participate in on-call rotations. The role requires a high school diploma, 1–3 years in fire alarm experience, and NFPA/NEC knowledge; NICET certs preferred or state-dependent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of fire alarm or life safety experience preferred.
• Technical training or certifications preferred.
• NICET Fire Alarm certification preferred or required based on state requirements.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes.
• Experience with fire alarm panels, devices, and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete timely repairs.
• Program and configure fire alarm control panels and devices.
• Complete service reports, inspection documentation, and compliance forms.
• Identify deficiencies and communicate repair needs with customers.

• Maintain company tools, testing equipment, and service vehicles.
• Follow NFPA standards, local codes, and company safety procedures.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and emergency service response.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

The Job

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Climb ladders, work at heights, and access confined spaces
• Work at commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties
• Work in varying weather, noise, and electrical environments
• Occasional overtime and on-call work may be required
