Century Fire Protection Knoxville - Powell, TN is seeking a skilled fire alarm technician to inspect, test, maintain, and repair life safety systems across commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties. You will diagnose issues, program control panels, and ensure compliance with NFPA standards while preparing detailed service and inspection reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NICET Fire Alarm certification preferred or required by state rules.
• Technical training or certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete timely, accurate repairs.
• Program and configure fire alarm control panels and devices.
• Complete service reports, inspection documentation, and compliance forms.
• Identify deficiencies and communicate repair needs with customers.
• Coordinate with project managers, service coordinators, and inspectors.
• Maintain company tools, testing equipment, and service vehicles.
• Follow NFPA standards, local codes, and company safety procedures.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and emergency service response.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems
• Diagnose system issues and complete timely, accurate repairs
• Program and configure fire alarm control panels and devices
• Complete service reports, inspection documentation, and compliance forms
• Identify deficiencies and communicate repair needs with customers
• Coordinate with project managers, service coordinators, and inspectors
• Maintain company tools, testing equipment, and service vehicles
• Follow NFPA standards, local codes, and company safety procedures

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1–3 years of fire alarm or life safety experience preferred
• Technical training or certifications preferred
• NICET Fire Alarm certification preferred or required based on state requirements
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes
• Experience with fire alarm panels, devices, and testing equipment
• Notifier or similar manufacturer experience preferred
• Basic Microsoft Office, mobile software, and computer skills

The Job

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Climb ladders, work at heights, and access confined spaces
• Work at commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties
• Work in varying weather, noise, and electrical environments
• Occasional overtime and on-call work may be required
