Job summary

Encore Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to inspect, test, program, service, and troubleshoot a wide range of fire alarm systems. This field-based role offers autonomy, with on-site site-to-site work supporting customers, contractors, and internal teams.

The candidate will move between service, testing, and occasional emergency calls, with opportunities for long-term growth in a safety-critical industry and a culture focused on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; relevant experience preferred.
• Valid electrical license and driver’s license; willingness to travel.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, OSHA regulations relevant to fire alarm systems.
• NICET certification in water-based systems preferred.
• Experience with multiple manufacturers and diverse fire alarm panels.

Responsibilities

• Service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and corrective repairs per NFPA 72 and standards.
• Identify code deficiencies; provide clear recommendations for system improvements.
• Respond to emergency calls; participate in nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with contractors, building personnel, and internal teams for timely service.
• Document service activities clearly, including findings and parts used.
