Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Fire Alarm & Security Technician to install, troubleshoot, service and repair fire alarm and security systems with minimal supervision. You will use field service tools and follow safety procedures while coordinating with monitoring companies and customers.

The role requires knowledge of codes and standards, experience with various fire alarm systems, and the ability to train junior technicians.

Qualifications

Comprehensive working knowledge of fire alarm codes and standards.
Knowledge of different manufacturers clean agent and high‑pressure suppression systems.
Programming and software knowledge with a variety of fire alarm systems used when removing or replacing components.
Ability to troubleshoot to determine faults including ground faults in fire alarm systems.
Repair or replace damaged fire alarm components such as FACP, power supply and initiating devices.
Attend seminars or training to stay updated on latest technology, codes, and standards.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, service and repair fire alarm and security systems with minimal supervision.
Communicate with customers and monitoring companies in a professional manner.
Be punctual to work locations and complete scheduled projects timely.
Use Field Service Lightning to track work orders, materials, and time on job.
Complete documentation on work orders and comply with safety programs and policies.
Train service technician trainees in applicable aspects of fire protection.
