Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is seeking experienced Fire Alarm/Intrusion Installation Technicians to install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems across commercial and retail locations nationwide. The role requires traveling extensively, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

Proven field installation experience in Fire Alarm and/or Intrusion systems.
Current valid state Physical Security or Life Safety license.
NFPA 70/72 knowledge.
Ability to read blueprints/site maps.
Comfort with working at heights 20–60 ft on lifts.
Able to work in tight spaces and use lifts.
Proficient with smartphones, email, spreadsheets, and MS Office.
Valid driver’s license with clean record; no DUI/DWI in last 3 years.
Willingness to travel 2–6 weeks; flexible shifts including nights/on-call.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems in commercial/retail sites.
Run low-voltage cabling and install cable support structures.
Test systems and verify operation of devices and panels.
Troubleshoot cabling networks and fire panels; ensure NFPA compliance.
Collaborate on pre-install design and planning; document work records.
Adhere to safety requirements per Wachter and OSHA guidelines.
