Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a field installation/service technician to install, program, configure and service fire alarm and fire suppression systems at customer sites in the New York area.

The role requires hands-on reading of blueprints, coordination with trades, and training customers on system operation. A high school diploma and 3+ years in low voltage systems are needed, with travel to various sites and an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Three (3) years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, configure, commission and service Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and manuals to coordinate installation with trades.
• Attend site meetings and train customers on equipment operation.
• Complete project documentation in a timely manner.
• Adhere to OSHA and safety policies; participate in on-call rotation.
