Job summary

Johnson Controls in Syracuse, NY seeks an experienced Fire Alarm/Fire Suppression Technician to install, program and service systems at customer sites. You will read complex blueprints, coordinate with trades, train customers and ensure safety and quality on every project.

Expect on-call rotations, overnight travel, and strong emphasis on customer service. Qualifications include a high school diploma and 3+ years in low voltage fire/life-safety, plus ability to lift heavy equipment, obtain

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Three (3) years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems including Fire/Life Safety.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, manuals.
• Able to obtain required licenses and pass background/drug tests.
• Ability to lift 50–70 lbs and work in physically demanding positions.
• Willingness to travel overnight as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, configure, commission and service Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints and specifications; coordinate with trades.
• Instruct customers on operation; conduct training and simulations.
• Maintain safety standards and participate in on-call rotation.
• Prepare timely project documentation and ensure customer satisfaction.
