Job summary

Fortis Fire & Safety Inc. in Fort Myers is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector to join our team. The Inspector conducts inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance of fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with NFPA codes and customer requirements.

The role also covers related low voltage systems such as Intrusion, Access Control, and CCTV. The ideal candidate has experience documenting inspections, identifying deficiencies, and maintaining safe, accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience performing inspections, testing, or servicing fire alarm systems and/or low voltage systems.
• Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, NFPA standards, and inspection procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion systems, as well as similar competitive manufacturers’ products.
• Perform testing and verification of low voltage systems and associated devices to ensure proper system operation and code compliance.
• Identify deficiencies, document findings, and communicate recommendations for corrective action.
• Complete inspection reports and all required documentation accurately using electronic or hard-copy formats.
• Maintain inspection records and documentation required by customers and AHJs, including healthcare and life safety regulatory agencies where applicable.
• Coordinate with service technicians, project teams, and branch personnel to address inspection findings and customer needs.
