Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking inspectors to conduct routine inspections, testing and service on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety lines. Travel to sites may be required in support of customer needs and project timelines.

The role involves working with low voltage systems, performing minor repairs, and documenting inspections using portable devices. A NICET certification enhances eligibility; a valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of installation or service experience in fire alarm testing/inspecting.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment up to 50-70 lbs.
• Travel out of town including overnight lodging may be required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to obtain required licenses by national/state/local codes.
• Moderate experience with computer software is expected.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test and service life safety equipment on site.
• Work with low voltage wiring and devices for operation of equipment.
• Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding via laptop or paper.
• Follow a structured inspection schedule and document findings.
• Provide training to less senior inspectors and trainees.
