Job summary

Johnson Controls in Memphis is seeking an Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, service and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines.

You will work with low voltage wiring, complete service acknowledgements, follow a strict schedule, input and archive documents on a mobile device, and provide training to less experienced inspectors. Some travel and physical work required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of installation or service experience in testing and inspecting fire alarm equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of physically demanding work up to 50-70 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding up to 40 ft and work in ducts or crawl spaces.
• Willing to travel with overnight lodging as needed.
• Strong customer service skills and safety awareness.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and service low voltage wiring and life safety product lines.
• Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding via laptop or paper.
• Follow a structured inspection schedule and document results.
• Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents on a mobile device.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes on systems inspected.
• Provide technical training to less senior inspectors and trainees.
• Complete inspections on time and perform other duties as assigned.
