Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Inspector to conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines. Inspectors will test fire alarm systems for existing and new customers and maintain proper documentation of work performed.

The role requires up to 70 lbs lifting, flexibility for alternate shifts or weekends, and adherence to safety policies. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of installation or service experience in testing and inspecting fire alarm equipment.
• Self-starter who can work with little or no supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and a positive attitude.
• Capable of performing physical labor.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License with good driving record.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Obtain NICET I within 1 year of employment.
• Basic computer skills—Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, plus smartphone skills.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems for existing and new customers.
• Maintain documentation for work performed using provided tools.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
• Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions (ladder/scaffolding/high lift).
• Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer needs.
• Ensure a safe and professional work area.
