VSC Fire & Security in Charleston, South Carolina, is seeking a Fire Alarm - Low Voltage Service Technician to service and repair fire alarm and related systems for commercial clients.

Candidates should have 2–3 years of experience with fire alarm or security systems, be adept at reading plans, and communicate effectively. The role includes on-call duties and offers competitive pay with a company vehicle and benefits.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience servicing at least one of the following systems: fire alarm, security systems, camera systems, access control, or similar systems.
• Proficient in following written and verbal instructions with attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to read plans, documents, meters, and discern colors for safety signage.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Installs, tests, and repairs security, camera, access control, suppression, and fire alarm systems.
• Troubleshoots system malfunctions and false alarms.
• Programs multiple types of systems and tests for proper operation.
• Consults with clients on system issues and provides recommendations for repair.
• Uses blueprints or building plans to determine proper systems to install/service.
• Runs wiring and circuits, installs hardware, and connects electrical wires.
• Inspects and tests systems, batteries, and wiring; makes adjustments as required.
• Be on call as required.
