Job summary

VSC Fire & Security in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Fire Alarm - Low Voltage Service Technician to service, install, and repair fire alarm, security, camera, and access control systems.

You will read plans, run wiring, test systems, troubleshoot faults, and work with clients to resolve issues while ensuring NEC and NFPA compliance. Excellent pay, company vehicle, benefits, and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience servicing fire alarm, security, camera, or access control systems.
• Proficient reading plans/meters; strong attention to detail and communication.
• Able to follow written/verbal instructions and meet service schedules.
• Valid State Driver's License with acceptable driving record for company vehicle.
• NICET certification and related credentials are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Installs, tests, and repairs fire alarm, security, camera, access control, and suppression systems.
• Troubleshoots system malfunctions and false alarms.
• Programs multiple system types and tests proper operation.
• Consults with clients on system issues and repair recommendations.
• Reads blueprints and plans to determine installation per building layout.
• Runs wiring and installs hardware and electrical connections.
• Inspects systems and batteries; makes adjustments and repairs as required.
• Ensures NEC and NFPA compliance; on-call as required.
• Serves as first contact for customers via phone or email and performs remote troubleshooting.
• Supports form development and maintenance of inspection forms.
